REBATE POLICY

 

     I.  Rebates may be made for:

 

         A.   Installation of high efficiency heat pump heating and cooling systems.

 

         B.   Installation of high efficiency electric water heaters.

 

    II.  Structural Rebate Requirements:

         A.   Rebates will be paid on equipment installed at permanent residences and/or commercial businesses that are or will be occupied during the entire calendar year.

 

         B.   Rebates on high efficiency heat pumps will not be paid on equipment installed in mobile homes, both single wide or double wide, unless axles and wheels have been removed and the structure is permanently attached to a non-movable foundation, and owner signs a five (5) year electrical service contract with Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, Inc.

 

    III.  General Requirements:

 

         A.   Payee must be a member in good standing of the Cooperative and have an electric service at the requested location.

 

         B.   At the time of payment of a rebate, all electric bills must be paid and current.

 

   IV.  High Efficiency Heat Pump Heating and Cooling Systems

 

         A.   A signed sales ticket from a licensed contractor showing the installation has been completed and unit is in proper working order must accompany request for rebate.

 

               1.   An “on the site inspection” of working equipment may be required by staff of Alfalfa Electric to check for proper installation and efficiency of unit and/or units.

 

               2.   One and/or both of the above mentioned requirements may be needed to meet approval.

 

         B.   Rebate amounts are paid as follow:

 

               1.   $215.00 per ton on air source units.

 

2.      $265.00 per ton on geothermal units.

 

V.    High Efficiency Electric Water Heaters

 

         A.   A sales ticket showing the purchase of a high efficiency electric water heater and a signed affidavit stating that the water heater has been installed in the member’s home and is in proper working order must accompany request for rebate.

 

1.    An “on-the-site inspection” of the working equipment may be required by Staff of Alfalfa Electric to check for proper installation and efficiency of unit and/or units.

 

               2.   One and/or both of the above mentioned requirements may be needed to meet approval.

 

B.     Rebate amounts will be paid as follows:

 

1.   $200.00 for heaters from 30 to 52 gallons.

 

               2.   $250.00 for heaters greater than 52 gallons.

 

               3.   $100.00 for conversion from gas to electric water heaters.

 

               4.   $40 for the replacement of an element or thermostat on the member’s electric water heater.
