History |
| For more than 60 years,
Alfalfa Electric Cooperative, Inc. has been dedicated
to providing members in southern Kansas and north central
Oklahoma with the best electrical service at the lowest
possible price. A non-profit distribution cooperative,
AEC is owned and controlled by our members. We continue
to be committed to enhancing the quality of life of our
member-owners in Alfalfa, Grant, Garfield, Major and Woods
counties in Oklahoma and Barber and Harper counties in
Kansas. Our headquarters are located in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

Touchstone Energy

Alfalfa Electric Cooperative is a Touchstone
Energy Cooperative. Touchstone Energy is a national
alliance of consumer-owned electric and energy utilities
providing superior service at affordable rates to all
customers, large and small. More than 560 Touchstone
Energy Cooperatives across the nation are local, active
members of their communities and are committed to serving
their 15 million commercial, industrial and residential
customers with integrity, accountability, innovation
and community involvement.

Structure and Trustees
|
|
All cooperative members have equal voting rights and
have the opportunity to vote at AEC's district and annual
meetings. Eight trustees are elected by members to represent
their districts on AEC's board. Each trustee serves
a three-year term. Current trustees are:,

AEC is a voluntary organization open to all persons
able to use our services and willing to accept the responsibilities
of membership.
AEC is a democratic organization controlled by our
members who participate in setting policies and making
decisions. Each member has equal voting rights and has
the opportunity to vote in any matter that may come
before the Annual Meeting.
Members contribute to and control the capital of AEC.
AEC is an autonomous, self-help organization controlled
by our members.
AEC provides education and training for our members,
elected representatives, managers, and employees so
they can contribute effectively to the development of
our cooperative.
AEC helps develop our communities through policies
accepted by our members.
